Pakistan wants unconditional talks with India according to Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi. He has also threatened that India's decision not to continue efforts to resolve issues like the Kashmir problem through the composite dialogue would have "consequences".
In the meantime, Pakistani Punjab IGP Tariq Saleem Dogar has said that the mastermind of Mumabi 26/11, Hafiz Saeed has neither been arrested nor put under house arrest, rather the police is providing an extra security cover to the Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) founder leader.
When will we learn that there is no point in talking with these people?

I fully agree that there is no point in talking but there is no choice. India has lost every single opportunity over the last two decades to "talk back" in Pakistan's language. And that is because there has never been a national strategy to do whatever is needed to make Pakistan remain in its boots and behave its size. No strategy, therefore no capability, therefore no choice but to "talk" and plead.
I agree with you - there's no point talking...Since the govt. is on an austerity drive, why waste money on talks?
We go through a cycle,a phase with Pak.
1...They hit us hard.
2...We make all sorts of noises and refuse to talk.
3...Under US pressure,we give in and out of the blue offer talks.
4 We start talking, till they hit us again.
5... Cycle starts all over again.
6...Why talk?At least have some self respect.
Enough...now hit back.
I agree, there is no point in talking with Pakistan. But do we have the guts to do anything else?
Yes Vinod and Manju, we have not left ourselves any other option but to engage in talks, sooner or later. Because we have time and again shown that we lack the guts to take any concrete action.
Bones, I believe we should have shown austerity in talking but not in taking action when it was needed, drive or no drive :(
BK, yes it is a cycle and the tragedy is that we are becoming used to it.
Talk to whom in Pakistan. There are four agencies rather i would say five.
1.The Government which always remains under US pressure like that of ours
2. The Pak Army which is always trying to invent a misadventure against us and is not under their govt's control
3. The ISI, the hidden operator behind all the evils marring this region.
4. The Taliban. No explations required here
5. The citizens who are as good or as bad as we are and are the victims of the incompetencies of their respective governments.
sometimes to defend means also to attack - india haven't learnt that lesson after all the rulers , ha ?
We will never learn because Pakistan issue for us and India issue for them is the main agenda to get votes.
No political party will ever try to find any solution. They will talk and discuss forever and after a while when people stop caring about the issue then they will raise something new just to bring the fire back and create communal disharmony.
